e-Oppi Oy was founded in 2011 by Simo Veistola, a well-known Finnish teacher, principal and author of over 80 study books over his long career in education. The company was born from its founder’s idea to ambitiously combine expertise in pedagogy with the possibilities of the modern digital environment, thus creating the most efficient tools to teach and learn in today’s world.
As part of our efforts to make the most of the digital environment, e-Oppi joined forces with the well-established Estonian company Star Cloud Oü in 2021 to bring our digital books to the advanced, user-friendly and widely used Opiq platform.
In 2024, another important partnership was formed when e-Oppi was joined by long-time investor and operator in the international education sector, Peter Vesterbacka and his company Random Ventures. Peter has been working with us and supporting e-Oppi with our growing number of international customers through his extensive experience in taking Finnish pedagogy to the world.
Schools, learning and teaching here in Finland are also rapidly becoming more international due to the more diverse backgrounds of students and the increasing number of foreign students studying in Finnish schools. Therefore, Peter’s expertise in working with international students is a wonderful resource that can also benefit our domestic customers, allowing e-Oppi, for example, to better help them overcome potential language barriers in learning.
